This year, icomedias will make its first appearance at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The HybridForms mobile form system will be presented at the HP stand as a Public Safety sector solution. Used in combination with the new HP Elite x3 smartphone, HybridForms makes police processes and documentation mobile, paperless and efficient.

Mobile policing with digital forms

Virtually every action of a police officer outside a police station must be documented in writing – forms must be completed and reports need to be written. This takes up a great deal of police time. In many places, police officers jot down the information in a notebook and then type the data into a police procedure system when they return to their desks. The HybridForms mobile app allows police officers to replace pen and paper with a smartphone or tablet. The app is intuitive and helps police officers record information faster and more correctly with the aid of special features such as fields that are pre-filled automatically by the host system, stored look-up lists and clearly-recognizable mandatory fields. Photos can be taken directly within the app and a digital pen can be used to annotate them in color, or to add drawings and sketches. The app can also be used to record voice memos. All collected data is transmitted directly into the police procedure system and is immediately available. This saves time – up to 50% per incident – thus giving the police officers and emergency personnel more time for their core responsibilities.

Seamless digital workflow with HybridForms and the HP Elite x3

The HP Elite x3 smartphone is a 3-in-1 device which combines the performance and productivity of a computer with the functions of a smartphone. In conjunction with the HybridForms mobile Windows app, it is thus ideal for today’s police work: the officers can record information at the site of an incident and then finalise their reports when they return to their desk, should this be necessary. With the aid of Windows Continuum, the dashboard of police vehicles can even be transformed into an advanced workstation with a large display.
